1948 Pontiac Woody Wagon (IL auction)

1948 Pontiac Woody Wagon

1948 Pontiac Woody Wagon – being auctioned by Mecum Auctions – presented as Lot S92, this Pontiac is scheduled to cross the block on national television at 1:35PM on Saturday, September 18.

Description: Pontiac parted ways with other manufacturers after the war by introducing new styling in 1946. In 1948, the Pontiac featured a new “floating bar” grille to make the car appear even wider. The most expensive 1948 model was the Silver Streak 8 woody, priced at $2,490. Representing the last of the Pontiac woody wagons, this beautifully detailed example utilizes the final-year production 248.9/104 HP flathead straight 8 and the all-new 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, and is equipped with a radio, heater, clock, spotlight, windshield visor and the correct wide Whitewall tires.
