1972 Pontiac Grand Prix Hurst SSJ

1972 Pontiac Grand Prix SSJ

POCI Member Mark Beyer’s ’72 GP SSJ, fresh restoration….

This vehicle has over 60 Pontiac, Hurst, and GM options; All documented.

A bit of History: Car was found in Ohio in 1999 amongst 500 other cars that were literally rotting away since about 1977. Such cars included 7 Fuel-Injected 57 Bonnevilles, a 68 GTO HO with special ordered Chrome Bumper and other fine GM Cars.

After sending in for PHS info, I found out this was a legitimate Hurst conversion, but never imagined that the paint color (not White/Gold or Black/Gold) was blue. Through the miracle of Allen’s Collision in Bucyrus Ohio and 15 pieces of another Grand Prix, the body of the car was restored and painted to match the original color. Some of the original color was left on the car including a rare look at history where the Pontiac factory put the standard pinstriping on the car, only to have Hurst remove and paint it on later. Pieces of the original Pontiac vinyl striping still exists on the vehicle!

Now for the fun stuff: Car has 7 Hurst Options: Sony B&W TV with Antenna, Alarm System, 60X15 B.F. Goodrich Radial Tires, original American Racing wheels, Radar Detector, and working Mobile Phone. Car has Pontiac Options including AM/FM Stereo with Cassette Player, Rear Seat Shoulder Belts, Superlift Shocks, and Lamp Monitoring package.

Even includes 2 items from the Service Department;  One to correct a positive cable issue that could start a console fire! …and the “Grill Whistling” fix.

  10. With havin so much content and articles do you ever
run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any ways to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.
