“Firebird arrived in 1993 with 90% new content. This radical revision found most every component of the Firebird completely new or extensively updated.  Among the many changes for 1993 were a 68-degree windshield angle, new aluminum wheels and tires, composite body panels resistant to minor impacts and rust, new instrumentation and locking glove box, new front and rear suspension, a new 3.4 liter V-6 (standard on Firebird) and a 5.7 liter V-8 (standard of Formula and Trans Am) and a six-speed manual transmission (standard in Formula and Trans Am). There were 5,121 Trans Am produced. There were also 201 examples of the 300-hp ‘Firehawk’ version of the Trans Am.”

“Pontiac’s luxury import sedan fighter, the Bonneville, got additional firepower in the SLE package for 1993. The SLE makeover of the standard Bonneville SE joined the flagship SSE and SSEi models in attracting import-oriented buyers.”
