From John Gunnell’s book “75 Years of Pontiac Oakland“:

“The 1950 Pontiac utilized the popular 1949 body with revisions to trim and appointments. The biggest news of the year was the introduction of the Catalina hardtop as a production model. The wood-bodied Station Wagon was gone this season and the Sedan Delivery received Deluxe trimmings. The wagon accommodated eight people on three seats, with both rear seats being removable.”

“The new Catalina Coupe was one step closer to the youth market than most other Pontiacs, except the convertible. Many accessories were standard on this model and exclusive interior appointments were also part of the list price. Color combinations were limited to a pair of solid colors or two-tone combination of the same shades.”

“A total of 446,429 cars were built, all models, for 1950.”
