Piedmont Chapter-North Carolina

Posted in Chapter News on October 25, 2009 by pontiacoaklandclub
The months of September and October have both been busy ones for the Piedmont Chapter. Many area events have drawn members out for sharing their Pontiacs with others. A number of local cruise ins are winding down for the year and the cooler weather seems to encourage those cars to roll.
Early September was the Metrolina Charlotte event at the Fairgrounds. Several of our chapter members are vendors at this bi-yearly show. Many of our membership are spotted looking, dreaming, or buying during the 4 day time. In 2008 the Piedmont Chapter made a major change in our annual car show. Our sponsoring dealer changed to Westcott Buick, Pontiac, GMC in Burlington and we moved the date from May to September. This year our 26th annual show on Sept. 19th began with overcast and threatening skies, but soon changed to a pleasant day. Cars from Virginia, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as North Carolina cars were in attendance. We were pleased with the number of cars showing and added a couple of new club members to our chapter. Another new phase for our show was the addition of Buicks.
Our club President Bill Adams is a member of the Horseless Carriage Club and was the co-coordinator for their Fall Show in the Lexington area in mid September. Bill and his son Clark are the owners of a 1926 and 1927 Pontiac.  There were 4 Pontiacs that came to tour.

Plans are being made for the High Point Veteran’s Day parade on Nov. 8th. Our chapter has been participating in this yearly event for many years. It is an opportunity for us to show our patriotism for our country in a small way.

GMC Merchandise 1970s

Posted in Classifieds on October 24, 2009 by pontiacoaklandclub

Original NOS GMC sign. It measures 12 1/2″ x 14″ and is made of plastic. On one side it says “GMC Trucks”, on the reverse it has two sections, the top says “GMC Trucks” the bottom “Todays Special”. There are then 6 inserts that can slide in either the top or bottom that all say different things like “Gas or Diesel”. There is a lip at the top of the sign where it could hang on something. I don’t know for sure, but I think it hung in the window of the truck. $34.50 each, includes shipping, 4 available.

1941 Pontiac Deluxe Torpedo Eight (RI)

Posted in Classifieds on October 24, 2009 by pontiacoaklandclub

1941 Pontiac

1941 Pontiac

I am selling a very original car with only 45,000 miles.  Extremely nice original interior and nice paint.  The dash, gauges, window trim, seats, door panels in great condition.  This car runs and drives beautifully.  Absolute turn key car. Pictures should tell the story.  Last registered in 1955!

The car could benefit by painting the wheels and re-plating the bumpers.
All documents, owners manuals, service manuals included.  Difficult to find in this condition.  I have several high quality photos available, just ask.
Car is located in Rhode Island and I am asking $12,500
Thanks,
Tom Laferriere  (401.651.2295)
